1Common Unix Printing System 2CUPS provides a portable printing layer for UNIX(r)-based operating 3systems. CUPS provides the System V and Berkeley command-line 4interfaces. 5 6CUPS uses the Internet Printing Protocol ("IPP") as the basis for 7managing print jobs and queues. The Line Printer Daemon ("LPD") Server 8Message Block ("SMB"), and AppSocket (a.k.a. JetDirect) protocols are 9also supported with reduced functionality. CUPS adds network printer 10browsing and PostScript Printer Description ("PPD") based printing 11options to support real-world printing under UNIX. 12 13Maintainer: Antoine Jacoutot <ajacoutot@openbsd.org> 14 15WWW: http://www.cups.org/ 16
