Here are some brief instructions to get you started.

       1) If the zip you downloaded is named GSDrum00.Zip, you can
create a special directory to place the patches in, make a
backup of your original drum kit, and/or copy this Drum Set over
your originals. The patches contained in GSDrum00.Zip were
designed to replace the drum set that comes with the GUS but
PlayMIDI and the MIDI player that is a part of the Ruckus
Developement Kit fail to play these patches properly. Windows
and games seem to work OK but use at your own risk. (Ie: I
advise backups) In any case, use or ignore #2 depending on what
       you want to do.

       2) First, you need to make a directory for these patches to go
into. Some of the patches may have names that are already used
in your UltraSound's MIDI directory. If you excepted the normal
configuration when installing your GUS or GUS-MAX software, this
directory should be ULTRASND\MIDI. I would advise making the
subdirectory that contains these patches off of the MIDI
directory. Choose a name that is relevant to the drum set you
are installing. Here are some recommendations. (I am assuming
       the default ultrasnd directory location)

       Drum Set Archive Directory
       ---------------- ---------
       GSDrum00.Zip \UltraSnd\Midi
                                               \UltraSnd\Midi\Bank0
      *GSDrum08.Zip \UltraSnd\Midi\Bank8_16
      *GSDrum16.Zip \UltraSnd\Midi\Bank8_16
       GSDrum24.Zip \UltraSnd\Midi\Bank24
                                               \UltraSnd\Midi\Electric
       GSDrum25.Zip \UltraSnd\Midi\Bank25
                                               \UltraSnd\Midi\TR_808
       GSDrum32.Zip \UltraSnd\Midi\Bank32
                                               \UltraSnd\Midi\Jazz
       GSDrum40.Zip \UltraSnd\Midi\Bank40
                                               \UltraSnd\Midi\Brush
       etc...

       * - Banks 8 and 16 use some of the same patches. Therefore,
they should be in the same directory.

       3) Once the contents of the zip(s) is/are in their appropriate
directory(s), you need to prepare the banks for use. I will not
explain how to do this for DOS right now, but will explain for
       Windows.

       4) Once in Windows, load up Patch Manager (Bank Manager version
       required). Select Bank Manager.

               a) Once in Bank Manager, click on FILE then choose NEW
               BANK.

               b) Where it asks for NUMBER, enter the Bank Number that
is attached to the end of the ZIP name. Ie:
               GSDrum40.Zip is bank number 40.

               c) Where you are asked for BANK NAME, Enter anything you
like, though there are appropriate names for each bank.
               Here is the listing :

                       Bank Number Bank Name
                       ----------- ---------
                       0 Standard Drums
                       8 Room Drums
                       16 Power Drums
                       24 Electronic Drums
                       25 TR_808 Drums
                       32 Jazz Drums
                       40 Brush Drums
                       48 Orchestra

               d) Where is says PATCH DIRECTORY, use the BROWSE button
to select the directory that contains that new patches.

               e) When everything is ok so far, click on OK.

               f) Now, the file called BANK.INF that comes in this
ZIP gives the appropriate patch maps. Refer to that
file which is specific to the bank that you have
               recieved.
