1*c3d31fe1SmrgThis README file is copied into the directory for GCC-only header files 2*c3d31fe1Smrgwhen fixincludes is run by the makefile for GCC. 3*c3d31fe1Smrg 4*c3d31fe1SmrgMany of the files in this directory were automatically edited from the 5*c3d31fe1Smrgstandard system header files by the fixincludes process. They are 6*c3d31fe1Smrgsystem-specific, and will not work on any other kind of system. They 7*c3d31fe1Smrgare also not part of GCC. The reason we have to do this is because 8*c3d31fe1SmrgGCC requires ANSI C headers and many vendors supply ANSI-incompatible 9*c3d31fe1Smrgheaders. 10*c3d31fe1Smrg 11*c3d31fe1SmrgBecause this is an automated process, sometimes headers get "fixed" 12*c3d31fe1Smrgthat do not, strictly speaking, need a fix. As long as nothing is broken 13*c3d31fe1Smrgby the process, it is just an unfortunate collateral inconvenience. 14*c3d31fe1SmrgWe would like to rectify it, if it is not "too inconvenient". 15
