33.Nd SoundForte RadioLink SF16-FMR2 FM radio device driver
34.Sh SYNOPSIS
35.Cd option RADIO_TEA5759
36.Pp
37.Cd "sf2r0 at isa? port 0x384"
38.Cd "radio* at sf2r0"
39.Sh DESCRIPTION
40The
41.Nm
42driver provides support for the SF16-FMR2 FM radio tuners.
43.Pp
44The SF16-FMR2 is a stereo FM tuner that allows to tune in the range
4587.5 - 108.0 MHz, report signal status on the current frequency, force
46audio output to mono, perform hardware signal search, and has an internal
47AFC.
48.Pp
49The SF16-FMR2 cards take only one I/O port.
50The I/O port is set by the driver to the value specified in the configuration
51file and must be 0x384.
52.Pp
53Philips Semiconductors released two almost identical chips TEA5757 and
54TEA5759.
55The TEA5757 is used in FM-standards in which the local oscillator frequency
56is above the radio frequency (e.g. European and American standards).
57The TEA5759 is the version in which the oscillator frequency is below
58the radio frequency (e.g. Japanese standards).
59The option
60.Va RADIO_TEA5759
61changes the algorithm of frequency calculation for the TEA5757 based cards
62to conform with the Japanese standards.

66.Sh HISTORY
67The
68.Nm
69device driver appeared in
70.Ox 3.0
71and
72.Nx 1.6 .
73.Sh AUTHORS
74The
75.Nm
76driver was written by Vladimir Popov and Maxim Tsyplakov.
77The man page was written by Vladimir Popov.
78.Sh BUGS
79MediaForte made two variants of the SF16-FMR2 cards, the first one has
80an internal amplifier of the output sound, the second one does not have
81such an amplifier.
82The current driver supports only the second variant.
