MEMCMP 3 ""
C 7 NAME
memcmp - compare byte string
SYNOPSIS
#include <string.h> int memcmp(const void *b1, const void *b2, size_t len);
DESCRIPTION
Memcmp compares byte string
b1 against byte string
b2 , returning zero if they are identical,
otherwise returning the difference between the first two differing bytes
(treated as unsigned char values, so that '\e200' is greater than '\e0',
e.g.).
Both strings are assumed to be
len bytes long.
Zero-length strings are always identical.
SEE ALSO

STANDARDS
Memcmp conforms to ANSI X3.159-1989 (``ANSI C'').
