dev_mkdb - create /dev database
SYNOPSIS
dev_mkdb DESCRIPTION
Dev_mkdb creates a
db (3) database in ``/var/run/dev.db'' which lists the name and
st_rdev field of all of the character special files in the ``/dev'' directory.
Each of these files is entered, with the
st_rdev field as the key and the file name as the data.
This database is used by ps (1) and ttyname (3).
