This directory contains some Tcl scripts that draw state maps of North
America.  They require Tcl/Tk 8.3 (1) or later and Tkgeomap 2.0 (2) or later.

ptiger, which is a link to src/PTiger.tcl, is a script application that
displays U.S. places in an interactive map.  Moving the mouse over a place
displays the place name and population.  Additional menus search for a
place and set the population threshold for a place to be displayed.

The lines directory contains land outlines.  U.S. states, Mexican states and
Canadian provinces are from the AWIPS web site (3).  World outlines are from
the Xearth root window program (4).

The places directory contains information on populated places in the U.S.
from the U.S. Census bureau. (5)
