This helps non-english people to have a better game 19 experience and thus a better time playing Risk.</p><p>Translation is very easy: You just have to translate a simple text 20 file of the following form:</p><pre class="programlisting">... 21mainmenu.newgame=New Game 22mainmenu.startserver=Start Server 23...</pre><p>the translated german version would look like</p><pre class="programlisting">... 24mainmenu.newgame=Neues Spiel 25mainmenu.startserver=Server starten 26...</pre><p>Easy, isn't it?</p><p>To translate Risk into your language, just get the sources and make 27 a copy of the file <tt class="filename">translation/Risk.properties</tt> and 28 rename it to <tt class="filename">Risk_<language code>.properties</tt> 29 (Replace <tt class="filename"><language code></tt> with the 2-digit code 30 of your language, e.g. "en" for english, "de" for german or "fr" for 31 french).</p><p>Now just open the new <tt class="filename">Risk_xx.properties</tt> file 32 in your favorite text editor and translate the strings in there.</p><p>Additional to the <tt class="filename">Risk.properties</tt> there is a 33 file called <tt class="filename">DefaultMaps.properties</tt> which contains the 34 translation of continent and country names, which can be translated as 35 well.</p> 36 37<div class="section" lang="en" xml:lang="en"><div class="titlepage"><div><div><h3 class="title"><a id="id4773309"></a>Translating maps</h3></div></div></div><p>Standard maps (whole world) are translated via the 38 <tt class="filename">DefaultMaps.properties</tt> file. It it possible to 39 translate single maps without using the DefaultMaps file.</p><p>Just create a new file in the <tt class="filename">maps/</tt> folder, 40 called <tt class="filename"><map name>_<language 41 code>.properties</tt>.
