The Electronic Periodic Table of the Elements
		Version 2.0 April 11, 1999

INTRODUCTION

Chemistry is seperated between Organic, Inorganic, Analytical, and
Physical. Each area has its basic fundamental sets of constants and
procedures which are beginnings for understanding matter. An limited
set of examples of some of the areas which I found interesting were
compiled into this program. Most have references so that they may be
suitable for citation.

REQUIREMENTS

The executable image and the manual page require less than 750
Kilobytes. The uncompressed source code requires approximately 1
Megabyte. With optional sound files the executable image, manual
pages, and supporting sound files require approximately 23 Megabytes.

COMPATIBILITY

This version was developed on Linux. Since Version 2.0 VMS is no
longer supported although previous support has not been removed.

INSTALLATION

Unpack the files into a directory where you can build the program.

Type:

make ; make install

The executable resides by default in /usr/bin/epte, however this is determined
by the variable DISTNAME.

OPTION

The program includes support for sound file output. The sound files must
be located in the DISTNAME directory under the directory sounds. The sound
files require approximately 23 Megabytes an /usr/bin sub-directory. To use
this option make the target install_with_sound:

make install-with-sound

Installed files:

/usr/man/man1/epte.1
/usr/bin/epte
/usr/bin/sounds/...
