1Calamaris
2Version 3
3
4What is it?
5-----------
6
7Calamaris is a Perl script, which was first intended as demo for a statistical
8software for Squid. I started it at 13 January 1997 (Version 1.1) as a
9rewrite of my old Squid-Analysis-Script weekly.pl (which was in German
10language). I announced it (Version 1.16) to the public at 28 Feb 1997. (see
11http://www.squid-cache.org/mail-archive/squid-users/199702/0551.html for the
12Original-Announcement) Since then it is used by people all around the world,
13and i decided to build a new improved version of it. Calamaris V2 was a
14nearly complete rewrite, with changed and more reports.
15
162004 Michael Pophal send me a jumbo-patch against Calamaris 2.59, which adds
17two more reports, and the long wanted graphics to make your
18mangle^H^H^Hagement happy.

36Where to get Calamaris?
37-----------------------
38
39The Calamaris-Home-page is located at http://Calamaris.Cord.de/
40The Development-Repository is at https://github.com/C0RD/calamaris
41
42There is also an Announcement-Mailing-list. To subscribe send mail with
43'subscribe your@mail.adr.ess' in the Mail-Body to
44<Calamaris-announce-request@Cord.de>. Subscribers will get a mail on every new
45release, including a list of the changes. --> low traffic.
46
47Philipp Frauenfelder <pfrauenf@debian.org> has build a Debian Package, which
48can be found via http://packages.debian.org/calamaris .
49
50There is a port for FreeBSD, which can be found at
51http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=calamaris .
52
53A package for NetBSD is here:
54ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/pkgsrc/www/calamaris/README.html
55
56rpms are also available from various people. You can search for them
57via http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=calamaris .
58
59
60Is there anything else?
61-----------------------
62
63Ernst Heiri has build a spin-off of my Calamaris V1, which can be found
64*where?*
65
66There is also a C++-port of Ernst Heiri's Calamaris available. It is
67(according to the author Jens-S. Voeckler <voeckler@rvs.uni-hannover.de>) five
68times faster than the Perl-variant. check
69http://www.cache.dfn.de/DFN-Cache/Development/seafood.html for this.
70
71more Squid-logfile-Analysers can be found via the Squid-Home-page at
