11INSTALLATION AND USE
12-As a KDE iconset: open the Icons app (K menu/Preferences/Look&Feel/Icons). Click over 'Install New Teme'. Browse to the tar file, or drag it over the dialog. Click the installed iconset, and apply the changes.
13-As individual icons: untar the file download. Now all icons are available for individual use. Use you usual way to change individual icons, depending your desktop.

15PORTS TO OTHER PLATFORMS
16Read this if you wish to port this iconset to other platform. IMPORTANT NOTE: Read the 'NOIA ICONS & SKINS' to know wich platforms have these icon ported, or consult your usual customization site for any Noia iconset.
17This iconset is under LGPL, any any person can port these icons freely.
18Howto:
19-For desktops with 8 bits alphamask: create your icon as usual. Microsoft WindowsXP will only show correctly this kind of icons under 32bits color modes.
20-For desktops whitout 8 bits alphamask: create your icon as usual. Some icons have transparencies. Take caution with these icons, and retouch when the 1bit alpha conversion is wrong. Some of these icons are the 'console' and any 'folder' icons.

23HISTORY
24These icons are initially released for Microsoft WindowsXP and received much praise from the start. Therefore, i created 3 more variations.
25With these icons i obtained the 1st place in the Axialis Contest in July, 2002.
26I like having alternatives, therefore a long time ago (and lots of times) to install Linux on my x86 computers, without success. However, recently, Using Suse 8.0 I was able to succesful install Linux on my computer! I like Linux, it is a very powerful operating system and KDE is a nice desktop wich is rapidly being improved.
27Due to nature of Linux and thanks to the thousands of people who have contributed their work to it, surely my icon set will become old soon :p
28Finally, on November 7 2002 i finished my first icon set for KDE: The Noia icons.
29Differences between Windows & KDE Noia icons:
30-All icons actualized (the shadows weren't OK before)
31-Higher sizes ;)
32-The icons looks good on 16 bits modes :)) (I know, this is a KDE advantage, WIndowsXP don't shows correctly the 8bits alphablended icons on 16bits screen modes)
33-The devices icons are 50% new for this version
34-The filesystem icons are 90% new for this version
35-The mimetyps icons are 99% new for this version
36-The actions icons are 99% new for this version
37-The application icons are entirelly new for this version
38-Most importantly: THIS VERSION COVERS ALL (or almost all) OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM! I've haven't been able to do this on Windows or MAc OSX. This is really COOL!!

40ICON DESCRIPTIONS
41This iconset vas originally released without any license. Then, it was released under GPL, and finally, it's under LGPL (version 1.00 and above), because it's more permissive; read the 'lesser.txt' file, included in that package.
42This is a icon set for KDE 3.0x and KDE 3.1x. I used 'the 'hilight' icons as a template, but initially i didn't release all of the icons. The final version will cover all 'hilight' icons except specific application icons (such math, midi etc.)
43All icons are 32 bits, anti-aliased, and they have shadows and transparencies.
44I tried to make my icons as original i could, unfortunately i had to use some concepts from other OSes and desktops.
45All designs have been created by me and some of them are very original, at least on my opinion ;)
46The result of my work is a fresh, comic, clean, unique and modern set of icons.
47I used Ulead Photoimpact 7. Ok, this is a program that only turns on the Windows Operative System... hopefully the Wine developers will soon allow me to run it under Linux instead.

49NOIA ICONS & SKINS
50The Noia icons are released (at date creation of this file) for may diferent platforms, from Mac OSX to cellular phones, for Gnome including old computers (Amiga), PDAs (Symbian, Linux KDEed and GNOMEed), the 'popular' WindowsXP. But, the most complete (and the base for the other releases is the KDE version).
